The human mind is an amazing thing. It is thought that one of the things that differentiates humans from other mammals is ability to project ourselves through time. We have the ability to think about the future and to remember the past.
While this ability serves us well in many parts of our lives – it allows us to plan for the future, and to reflect on past decisions – it is also often a source of a lot of the pain of the human experience.
It is so easy to get dragged away from the present and into an unchangeable past or an uncontrollable future. Sucked into a world of “what ifs” and “if onlys”. To spend our time thinking about all the things we “should” be doing instead of allowing ourselves to be fully present in our reality.
Bring yourself back to this moment.
What you are doing now, right now, is the most important thing. It is the only thing.
Everything else is a mental construction.
There is nothing more important than this moment. Because there is nothing BUT this moment.
Be here now.
